Hiking to the 12,000+ foot Summit of Glacier Peak I ran into a beautiful meadow of Rocky Mountain Wildflowers including Alpine Daisies near the top. I had to relax in the meadow and take some photographs. Glacier Peak is a moderate and gentle summit located near Georgia Pass in the southwestern region of Colorado’s Front Range. Stradling the Continental Divide, Glacier Peak surveys a lot of territory. It is archetypal of the summits in this region possessing a relaxed demeanor much like that of nearby Whale Peak. Glacier Peak is visible from US 285 near the small town of Jefferson; it rises as a “Squaretop” ridge on the northwestern mountainous boundary of South Park.

Working for Nectar
Bees are such an interesting member of nature. I love watching do their gathering of nectar. As a child I would track down the bees and collect them and flowers in jars and then safely get closeup and check them out. Don’t worry… I would let them go after examining them… jar opened and I would run the other way. It was a adrenaline rush for a 7 year old in the garden.
Meadow of Colorado Blue Flax

Among the White Flowers
Exploring the meadows next to Cucharas Creek in Southern Colorado, i came across a butterfly collecting it’s fill of nectar. He was quietly doing his work and his wings were contrasted against these white flowers. I watched him for quite some time wondering how predators didn’t snag him up from the white flowers. I guess he was safe with so many flowers and so few predators.

Teig photobombing a landscape shot of Alpine Fireweeds next to the road at Boreas Pass above Breck in Colorado. I was setting up this nice evening shot of these purple flowers and Teig just walks up into the frame. I didn't really mind and I think he helps the composition. I would always put him in my landscape photographs but I am sure people are already overwhelmed with Teig in most of my photos. ;-)

Colorado Subalpine Buttercups
I found these yellow Subalpine Buttercups while hiking near King Lake in the Front Range Mountains of Colorado. Labradoodle in Sea of Yellow Alpine Flowers
Teig found a meadow of yellow Aspen Sunflower Flowers just off the trail to French Pass in the Colorado Rockies. Aspen Sunflower is a member of the Sunflower Family. The plant typically grows in meadows and clearings in pine forests at elevations between 5000 - 10000 feet. Teig blends in with this meadow and was almost ready to take snooze in the sunflowers.
