Teig resting in a field of snow leftover from the winter snows above Parshall Colorado. We had a fun day exploring the hills and ridges with the Colorado River flowing through the valley below. My brother was flyfishing but we decided we needed to stretch our legs and climb a few of the hills and get some fantastic views in this area.
Teig on Boulder in Castlewood Canyon
Teig had jumped up on one of the boulders in Castlewood Canyon and was staring eye to eye with me when I came hiking down Inner Canyon Trail. He still amazes me how athletic he still is for an old dog.
Old Traildog on Resting Off Colorado Trail
Old dog still getting er done on the Colorado Trail. Over 10 miles and he still ran back and forth ahead of me for 3/4 of the trip. He amazes me. I guess we have been lucky to have so many wonderful adventures. I treasure every single one!
Alpine Fireweed and Teig
Teig photobombing a landscape shot of Alpine Fireweeds next to the road at Boreas Pass above Breck in Colorado. I was setting up this nice evening shot of these purple flowers and Teig just walks up into the frame. I didn't really mind and I think he helps the composition. I would always put him in my landscape photographs but I am sure people are already overwhelmed with Teig in most of my photos.
Rocky Mountain Cove in Rainbow Lakes
Teig at the shoreline of one of Rainbow Lakes near Nederland Colorado. I think he was wondering what I was taking a photo of? I did like the reflections in the water and his awesome mug in the photo.
Teig on the Continental Divide Trail
A nice day for a hike in the Vasquez Peak Wilderness. This section of the continental Divide Trail near Berthoud Pass is fantastic in July with snowfields still present and wildflowers blooming. Definitely worth the trip.
Alpine Trail to Stanley Mountain
A beautiful summer day above 11,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains outside of Winter Park. Sauntering through the alpine landscape is one of our favorite ways to decompress from a crazy work week. Teig is definitely the scout on the trail leading most of the way.
Peaceful Contemplation at Cottonwood Pass
Teig resting in an alpine meadow on a saunter along the ridges above Cottonwood Pass in central Colorado. We like to take periodic breaks from hiking and just absorb the beauty of the high Rocky Mountains. It helps us keep centered and sane in our hectic crazy lives.
Colorado Traildog and his Sidekick
Working our modeling poses above 13,000 feet. We are striking the "Rocky Mountain High" pose for this photo. It is tough to look this awesome after hiking to the summit of a Colorado Peak.
Resting Off Trail in the Dappled Light
Teig resting on our way down from Whitney Lake in Colorado's Holy Cross Wilderness. We were next to the creek taking a rest from our saunter to the lake and back. These moments are some of my favorites because we feel a bit tired and are content with just experiencing nature.
Resting in Shade of the Red Sandstone
Teig was enjoying the cool shade provided by the Aztec Sandstone while we were hiking in the Valley of Fire State Park.
Traildog on Aztec Sandstone
Teig on a Sandstone outcrop in the Valley of Fire State Park in Southern Nevada. This park is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts... even pups.
Traildog Thru Pass in the Valley of Fire
Teig was coming through a V-notch over a small pass in some gnarled rocks in the Valley of Fire. We were sauntering south of White Dome in an area which had only a couple of hikers. This area was one of our favorites because no one was around.
Traildog in Williams Fork River
Springtime on the Williams Fork River near the confluence with the Colorado River. Teig was enjoying the cool afternoon playing in the river.
Teig Next to the Colorado River
We were exploring the Williams Fork and Colorado River confluence on a cool Spring day near Hot Sulfur Springs , Colorado. The spring run-off was in full sprint and Teig and I were enjoying watching the birds and the fly-fisherman along the rivers. Not a bad way to spend a day playing hookie from work.
Traildog above Colorado River
Teig in the snow above the Colorado River valley near Hot Sulfur Springs in northern Colorado. We were exploring the Williams Fork Creek nearby and decided to hike up one of the small mountains and get a view of the area. It was worth the work.
Down the Trail from Boulders
Teig coming down the trail from a cool boulder formation near Sheeprock. We had fun playing in the rocks and were making our way back to camp before the dark of night.
Beautiful Evening on Sheeprock Trail
Teig sauntering on a trail after sunset with Sheeprock in the distance. We were enjoying our first night out camping in the Front Range Mountains for 2020. It is so relaxing to get a nice hike in at sunset and capture a few photos to boot!
Traildog Paws in Rocky Mountain Pond
Teig was stalking wild trout at a series of ponds in Pike National Forest near Florrisant Colorado. He patiently waits at the edge for the fish to rise and then swims out to snatch them. He is not very successful with this method. He does much better when I am flyfishing and I have a nice trout on the line... his success rate is then stellar.
Labradoodle, Sand and Badlands
Teig resting in the fine sand of the Bisti Badlands of New Mexico. It was late in the afternoon and the warm November sun was moving towards sunset in the west. We had been exploring the rock formations all day and I had sat down in the sand to rest for a moment and Teig did the same. There is something supremely special about the deserts of the southwest when you hear no sounds of civilization.
