Mills Creek during the peak summer color in the Colorado Rockies outside of Idaho Springs. We hiked to Bill Moore Lake and did some exploring of the area and found that the mountain flowers were blooming next to the creek and this little waterfall. It was a perfect location for lunch and some tranquility.
Mill Creek Afternoon
Enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountain afternoon sitting next to this little waterfall on Mill Creek above Bill Moore Lake. The sounds of the cascading waterfall and the colors of flowers enticed me to sit and just meditate before sauntering further on the trail.
Alpine Fireweed and Teig

I was setting up this nice evening shot of these purple flowers and Teig just walks up into the frame. I didn't really mind and I think he helps the composition. I would always put him in my landscape photographs but I am sure people are already overwhelmed with Teig in most of my photos.

Flowers on the Yucca
The flowers on these Yucca Plant outside of golden colorado are so awesome. Many people don't like Yuccas but I don't understand why that is. I love when they bloom and are uber colorful.
Meadow of Colorado Blue Flax
Teig and I love to hike the Colorado Rockies when the alpine meadows are in full bloom. I found a field full of beautiful blue Lewis Flax while hiking the Continental Divide above Cottonwood Pass. Teig and I layed in this meadow of blue and watched the clouds pass overhead... just priceless!

Teig and I were hiking on South Table Mountain when all the early summer flowers were in bloom. I got this shot of him behind some gorgeous Yucca blooms which are amazing on the mountain outside of Golden Colorado.

We came across this meadow of Marsh Marigolds on our hike to Ptarmigan Lake in the Sawatch Range of Central Colorado in early summer. These beautiful flowers were below a huge snow field and I couldn’t pass up the photo opportunity. I just love photographing Colorado mountain flowers.

How about resting in an alpine meadow off the Continental Divide in the Colorado Rockies? Well Teig was doing just that on a hike to Skyscrapper Peak. This does relax the soul.

Shrine to Mary Magdalene
St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Questa, also known as San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church, was built in the mid-1800s by the first families of what was then the village of San Antonio del Rio Colorado. It was recently renovated and this shrine sites just outside the main doors of this beautiful church. I sat and marveled at it's simple southwest design and beauty. Finding these gems on your travels is worth the exploration.
Natural Container of Colorado Alpine Buttercups
Who needs a store bought container for your Colorado Alpine Buttercups? On the trail to Stanley Mountain I found this fantastic container of the flowers which nature provided. You just have to hike 4 miles to view them.
Colorado Alpine Sunflowers near Glacier Peak
We passed through a wonderful meadow of beautiful alpine sunflowers on our saunter up Glacier Peak in the Front Range Mountains of Colorado. Such vibrant yellows cheers the soul of any hiker!
Dahlias in Golden Colorado
These beautiful Dahlias were blooming in the garden containers along Washington Avenue in Golden Colorado. The city does a fantastic job with the flowers along the main street. Kudos to them for keeping Golden a beautiful place.

There are a plethora of very cool Alpine Buttercups in the meadows of the high alpine Rockies of Colorado. Their yellow petals liven up the slopes of the mountains in the Vasquez Peak Wilderness. How can any person not smile while walking through a meadow buttercup flowers?

Spring Afternoon in the Foothills above Salt Lake City
A hike up to Ensign Peak from Salt Lake City is a relaxing adventure in the Spring. The city spans out below you and the Wasatch Range can be seen in the distance. The foothills are clear of trees and the views are wonderful!
