Waterfall on Lake Fork Creek
Autumn is a beautiful time to be in the Colorado Front Range. Sauntering up to Gibson Lake along Lake Fork Creek we came across numerous beautiful waterfalls in the dappled light of the forest. This fall was so nice in the shade that we had to stop and eat lunch next to it and enjoy the cool mist.
Cascading Water on Mills Creek
Mills Creek during the peak summer color in the Colorado Rockies outside of Idaho Springs. We hiked to Bill Moore Lake and did some exploring of the area and found that the mountain flowers were blooming next to the creek and this little waterfall. It was a perfect location for lunch and some tranquility.
Mill Creek Afternoon
Enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountain afternoon sitting next to this little waterfall on Mill Creek above Bill Moore Lake. The sounds of the cascading waterfall and the colors of flowers enticed me to sit and just meditate before sauntering further on the trail.
Three Island Creek Waterfall
Waterfalls don't have to be massive to be beautiful. Finding smaller falls on a creek can be just as rewarding and even better to sit next to and daydream. This was a very nice one on Three Island Creek outside of Steamboat Colorado.
Rocky Mountain Stream into Rainbow Lake
A tranquil evening relaxing at Rainbow Lakes high in the Colorado Rockies. These lakes are a popular destination for casual hikers that don’t want to saunter too far on the trail. There are several lakes in the area. We were lucky that we were there late in the evening and no other folks were around. It was perfect and serene.

Beautiful waterfalls on Treasure Creek in the San Juan Range of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We hiked on Summit Trail to these falls which were dappled in nice midday sunlight, perfect to sit beside and have lunch and listen to the sounds of the roaring stream.

Water Spouts on Mountain Stream
St. Louis Creek in Fraser Experimental Forest outside of Winter Park Colorado. I found this cool waterscape a ways up the old road which is now used as a trail for hikers and mountain bikers to ascend the mountains to St. Louis Lake. I love the water spouts shooting out of the corrugated pipe.

The Mount Evans Wilderness is a wonderful place to find cool locations. This is a beautiful waterfall off one of the trails into the heart of the wilderness.
Serene Scene on Tiger Key
The calm photo as dark clouds work their way through the Gulf of Mexico from Tiger Key in Everglades National Park.It is rewarding to absorb the peaceful ambiance of the natural Florida landscape and not the large urban congestion to the north and east of the park.
Rays of Light on the Gulf of Mexico
The light was coming through the storm clouds casting rays on the Gulf of Mexico while a I rested on Tiger Key in Everglades National Park. It was a beautiful evening with a soft salty breeze coming off the ocean and cooling me on the silky white beach.
Grove of Mangrove Trees on Tiger Key
I love the different formations of mangrove trees in the Everglades National Park’s Keys. I couldn’t help but use them as focal subjects for my photographs. Coming from the Colorado Rockies, these swamp/marsh forests are super cool.
Beauty of a Crashing Wave
I sat on Tiger Key Beach and watched the evening waves crash into the sand and this stump. I was fascinated by the water drops shooting up from the waves as it hit the immovable object. The sound of the waves and the sight of the crash was so cool. Having lived my whole life in the desert southwest, I am seduced by the ocean and sauntering on the gulf coast.
Winter on South Boulder Creek
I really enjoyed exploring the winter conditions at Walker Ranch in the Front Range Mountains west of Boulder Colorado. South Boulder Creek was predominantly frozen over with sections where the flowing water showed through the ice. I think it makes for a pretty interesting composition.
