Resting by Lost Creek

Teig resting by Lost Creek on our hike into the Colorado’s Lost Creek Wilderness on Wigwam Trail. This wilderness is a fantastic area to explore and is relatively quiet compared to the other Front Range mountain areas near Denver. Lost Creek is also great to cool off in on warm summer days on the trail.

Teig on John Ford's Point

One of the most iconic places in America. Teig is standing on John Ford’s Point in Monument Valley. Some of the best westerns of all time had landscape shots from this very point. John Ford was one of my favorite directors and they named this location after him.

Looking Over the Front Range from Chief Mountain

What do you do when you have summited Chief Mountain above Squaw Pass in Colorado? You look out and over the surrounding Front Range hills and valleys and take in the rugged beauty of Colorado.

Traildog Resting on Salt Flat

Sometimes you just need to relax when you are out playing on a salt flat in West Utah. Teig was enjoying the spring afternoon at a large salt flat near the village of Lucin near the Nevada border.

Traildog Exploring Sand Wash Basin

Sand Wash Basin is located 45 miles west of Craig, Colorado. A herd of approximately 450 wild horses freely roam this area and are protected by the BLM. Teig was up on a point, as night approached, searching the horizon for them as a western storm was coming towards us. A quick retreat to our camp was in short order.

Winter at Beautiful Redrocks

Sauntering through RedRocks in Morrison, Colorado. If you get a chance, hit the area when there is snowstorm happening. Crowds will not be found and the serene red formations with snow makes for a wonderland for hiking. Teig absolutely loves winter in Colorado’s Front Range.

Shake It Off on South Peak

Spending time exploring South Peak above Twin   Lakes in central Colorado. We found small ponds left from snow melt, not uncommon for alpine elevations above 12,000 feet. Teig enjoyed a quick dip before continuing with our hike on these beautiful ridges.

Winter Fun on Morrison Slide Trail

What is better than the bright sun shining on a snow covered Redrocks trail after a huge snowstorm? I think you can tell how Teig feels about that. He was enjoying the run through the snow and I was thoroughly enjoying the views of Denver towards the east. We had the whole trail to ourselves and was playing and having fun every second!

A View of the Colorado Flatirons

Teig looking at the fantastic views from South Table Mountain outside of Golden, Colorado. A great hike near sunset with the views of the Front Range and the Flatirons to the north.

Traildog at Kinston Peak Snow Field

A day of hiking to Kingston Peak, Teig and I stopped over at the snow field below the summit to play a bit. He loves the snow and there was abundant amounts on this summer day in the Front Range mountains of Colorado.

Badlands Labradoodle in Black and White

Wondering the backcountry of Badlands National Park in South Dakota is an adventure. When I am in between landscape shoots I get shots of Teig wondering around the rock formations. He becomes my main model or subject when I need some inspiration. He is definitely my artistic muse.

Traildog at Historic 2-Bar Ranch

On a trip through Northwest Colorado we decided to explore Browns Park Wildlife Refuge on the Green River. We were visiting the Historic Ladore Schoolhouse and read some literature about the 2-Bar Ranch which was a mile hike from the schoolhouse. Teig and I decided to do quick jaunt over to the ranch and were thrilled to see how cool the ghost ranch was when we arrived. I had to get a shot of Teig near the corrals. I could imagine the “Old West” as we explored the ranch. A must see if you are in Browns Park.

Traildog in the Badlands

A sunny day to explore Badlands National Park in South Dakota. Teig squinting on a hill in the park as we explore the arid environment and search for the little treasures that come with exploring such a beautiful place.

Traildog on Chief Mountain

Traildog Teig on the Summit of Chief Mountain outside of Idaho Springs, Colorado. It was stormy morning with snow flurries on the way up to the peak at 11,709 feet above sea level. Snow drifts crossed most of the trail but the June morning was comfortable enough to wear a short sleeved shirt most of the way. The high peaks of Mount Evans area of the Rocky Mountains can be seen in the background.

Puppy Relaxation after Play

Rocky and Rambo had a great time playing during the Traildog Artisans photography session at their house in the foothills of Golden, Colorado. They got to play with Teig and roll around in the grass. These Bernese Mountain Dog puppies are a bowl full of energy but with Traildog Teig around we got them to relax for some shots. These brothers are inseparable and love everybody. How cute are these guys?
