A self portrait in the dead of winter at Bear Creek Lake Park.
Icicles in Bear Creek
Many of the plants next to Bear Creek in Colorado freeze in winter. These branches look fascinating with the thick ice and light shining through them.
Old Traildog on Resting Off Colorado Trail
Old dog still getting er done on the Colorado Trail. Over 10 miles and he still ran back and forth ahead of me for 3/4 of the trip. He amazes me. I guess we have been lucky to have so many wonderful adventures. I treasure every single one!
Cathedral Spires over the Hill
Cathedral Spires a few miles away from the Colorado Trail. This was the view near Raleigh Peak.
Western Spires on Long Scraggy Peak
Impressive spires on the western side of Long Scraggy Peak. The view is from the Colorado Trail north of the peak.
Ullrgrass Volunteers Warming Up
A pair of UllrGrass Volunteers were warming up at one of the fire towers near the entry gate. There were several of these fire towers around the festival to warm the festivarians up on this chilly January evening. Volunteers help with the festival and get to enjoy the music and fun when they are off shift.
Sloan’s Lake Resident
This guy was up in one of the trees around Sloan's Lake in Denver Colorado. He was enjoying the sun on a winter’s day.
Front Range across Sloan’s Lake
A beautiful view of the Rocky mountains across Sloan’s Lake in Denver Colorado. Viewing the snow capped peaks is one my favorite views from this lake and park.
The Denver Skyline across Sloan’s Lake
Downtown Denver's Skyscrapers across Sloan's Lake in mid-winter. This park is frequented by the public wanting to enjoy a stroll around the lake and get outside for fresh air.
Hawk Eyes on Me
A Cooper’s hawk up in a tree watching Teig and I walking along Kountz Lake at Belmar Park in Lakewood Colorado.
Traildog on Greenland Trail in Douglas County
Teig in the snow on Kipps Loop in Greenland Open Space outside of Larkspur Colorado. A beautiful 60 degree sunny day to explore the foothills.
Beautiful Music from the Violin
One of my favorite musicians playing at the UllrGrass festival in Golden Colorado. Sam Bush is one of the best mandolin and fiddle players in the world. He was playing on the outdoor stage at the festival during a cold midwinter 2019 night and was laughing and smiling all night. If you get a chance to see him and his band, you should check him out.
Winter Profile on North Table Mountain
Sometimes a simple photo out on trail captures the essence of a soul.
Resting on Green Mountain
Winter snow days on Green Mountain in Golden Colorado are the best. Teig loves hikes in the snow and bluebird days are especially fun for both of us. Can you see Tieg smiling? I definitely can!
Joshua Tree in Utah Preserve
Sauntering through southwest Utah near St George, Teig and I stumbled upon Joshua Tree National Natural Landmark and spend a day and evening there enjoying the desert landscape and Joshua Trees. It is definitely worth the time and we really enjoyed the area especially since it was deep into December and winter but the nights stayed above freezing temperatures.
Calm Traildog on North Table Mountain
Teig was resting on a rocky outcrop on North Table Mountain outside of Golden Colorado. I saw him sitting there a day after snow came through the area and had to capture this photo.
