Teig Next to the Colorado River
We were exploring the Williams Fork and Colorado River confluence on a cool Spring day near Hot Sulfur Springs , Colorado. The spring run-off was in full sprint and Teig and I were enjoying watching the birds and the fly-fisherman along the rivers. Not a bad way to spend a day playing hookie from work.
Down the Trail from Boulders
Teig coming down the trail from a cool boulder formation near Sheeprock. We had fun playing in the rocks and were making our way back to camp before the dark of night.
Beautiful Evening on Sheeprock Trail
Teig sauntering on a trail after sunset with Sheeprock in the distance. We were enjoying our first night out camping in the Front Range Mountains for 2020. It is so relaxing to get a nice hike in at sunset and capture a few photos to boot!
Traildog Paws in Rocky Mountain Pond
Teig was stalking wild trout at a series of ponds in Pike National Forest near Florrisant Colorado. He patiently waits at the edge for the fish to rise and then swims out to snatch them. He is not very successful with this method. He does much better when I am flyfishing and I have a nice trout on the line... his success rate is then stellar.
Traildog in Fog at Gross Reservoir
Teig and I were exploring the area around Gross Reservoir in the Front Range above Boulder Colorado during a rainy day in spring. The lake was quiet and we didn’t see another soul as we hiked the rocks and the beaches of the lake. These are some of my favorite times spending moments with my Colorado Traildog.
Bison Lounging at the Great Salt Lake
A small herd of bison were lounging on the beaches of Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake. This island is a state park and a wonderful location to explore Salt Lake. Ogden Utah is located across the lake.

Traildog Resting at Geneva Mountain Pond
Teig found a nice snow patch to get cooled off on our hike up to Geneva Mountain near Guanella Pass. We adore our alpine hikes and can’t wait for the snow to recede and get up above the tree line. I believe this environment is the best for hiking. It affords us fantastic views of the peaks and valleys and fills our souls.
Teig and Mount Bierstadt
Teig and I were sauntering up to Square Top Lakes above Guanella Pass when I got this portrait of him with Mount Bierstadt in the background. Bierstadt is one of the 14ers in the Front Range Mountains of Colorado. There were only a few hikers going up Bierstadt on this day because it was the first day the road to the pass was open after spring.
Barren Tree at Apex Pass
There are many unique details that you can find while exploring in the Front Range Mountains of Colorado. I was intrigued by this long dead tree near the tree-line that had a very cool texture with the white capped Rocky Mountain peaks in the background. We are so very blessed to be able to get up to these remote places to experience this.
Raven in Winter above Redrocks”
Teig and I were exploring Mount Falcon outside of Morrison Colorado during a snowstorm when I captured this shot looking back to Redrocks Amphitheater. The raven in the tree was so interesting and I think he makes the composition.
Waves at Sunset on Rabbit Key
A beautiful Gulf Coast Sunset from Rabbit Key in Everglades National Park. Storms had moved passed and provided splendid color and light in the western skies over the Gulf of Mexico.
Serene Scene on Tiger Key
The calm photo as dark clouds work their way through the Gulf of Mexico from Tiger Key in Everglades National Park.It is rewarding to absorb the peaceful ambiance of the natural Florida landscape and not the large urban congestion to the north and east of the park.
Seaweed on Mangrove Roots at Low Tide
Relaxing on Tiger Key beach, I watched the tide move down he beach and expose the mangrove roots, shells and remnant seaweed. I enjoyed the calm afternoon sun in the shade of the trees as the salty breeze kept the sand fleas away.
